The Public Infrastructure Security Cyber Education System (PISCES) is an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing cybersecurity education and workforce development, where qualified students with appropriate experience and oversight, act as entry-level cyber analysts. The PISCES program analyzes cyber data for small communities and cities who may not have the resources to hire cybersecurity professionals.
Small public entities throughout the state are invited to join the PISCES program, where expert teams at UM provide free cybersecurity threat monitoring, in exchange for using the program as a real-world training scenario for college students.
Expert teams analyze your network traffic and develop/educate Montana students studying cybersecurity. Learn your risks through cyber threat reports & receive tailored support, mitigation strategies, and resources to enhance your security.
By leveraging partnerships between academic institutions, government agencies, and private industry, PISCES provides real-world experience to students through training and internships in cybersecurity. The program focuses on protecting public infrastructure by equipping the next generation of cybersecurity professionals with the skills needed to defend against cyber threats. Through this collaborative approach, PISCES aims to bolster national security and ensure the resilience of critical infrastructure systems.
